Sarah Katherine Luca

I am a PhD student in the Applied Mathematics program at the University of Arizona.

My researchs interests are broadly in neuromorphic computing, spiking neural networks, biologically inspired computation, and machine learning/artifical intelligence. More specifically, I am interested in algorithm development for neuromorphic hardware. Currently, I am working on scalable and energy-efficient spiking algorithms for Markov reward and decision processes.

Outside of research, I spend most of my free time rock climbing in the mountains around Tucson, Arizona or training in the climbing gym. I love being outside and even spent six months thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2017.

Please feel free to get in touch!
